Introduction to Probability

Probability refers to the likelihood of something occuring. Whenever we are not sure about the outcome of an event, we use probabilities. Thereby, we find the likelihood of the occurrence of the possible outcomes. We use statistics to collect, analyze, and interpret the data related to the event. Finally, we calculate the probability of the event using statistical calculations.

What is the probability of getting a head when you toss a coin?
Your intuition might say that the probability of getting a head as the outcome is half of fifty percent. But, what is the mathematical basis of this value?
What is the probability of throwing a 6 on a dice?
